Hey, Neil asked me to write a few words about the lessons I have with him. Well – they are pretty cool. I asked him if we could concentrate on composition with regards to rhythm. I love R&B and was the main reason for learning too play. Well too date I have had 4/5 lessons and am really pleased with the way things are shaping up. I think what helps is the instrument. Neil has got one of these electronic piano’s with all the bells and whistles and it makes for some really interesting lessons – especially for someone like me.

Neil has been teaching my daughter Amelia for about 18 months now. He has to be the most patient teacher I have ever met. He is incredibly diligent and has such a warm persona with Amelia. If there was any one thing I could say about the lessons is that Amelia thoroughly enjoys her time at lessons and having the lessons has made her very creative which we love to see. She is practicing now for her grade 1 so will see how she does.

Our daughter Josephine started lessons with Neil in January of this year and am pleased to say that Neil’s classes are utterly fantastic. Our daughter loves the lessons and more importantly sees the fun in the learning. Josephine is making great progress. Neil’s infectious enthusiasm and patience is fantastic and we cannot recommend him highly enough.

My daughter Phoenix started piano lessons with Neil over a year ago now. Part of the reason for starting piano lessons was to help my daughter overcome some issues that that she had struggled with and for her to regain some confidence she had lost making her withdrawn. After 2-3 months, Neil has been able to draw Phoenix out of her shell and has had a really positive influence not just on her playing ability but her well being and confidence as a person. Lessons with Neil are always fun and he always looks for the positive’s even if someone has forgotten to practice. The warmth and encouragement he has given Phoenix is really helping her who is also becoming a confident player. Thanks Neil

Neil started working with my young daughter last year and am extremely pleased with the progress she has made. Neil comes to our house every week and the lessons are fun, informal but very intuitive. I would thoroughly recommend Neil as a tutor as he actively engages every lesson and I enjoy hearing the laughter that often radiates from the lessons.

Neil started teaching Charlie about 3 years ago and he thoroughly enjoys his lessons. He passed his grade 1 very early on and is working towards his grade 3. He loves playing the piano and Neil has really nurtured his enthusiasm and supported his learning that has helped his approach to his academic studies!!!

Well Neil has been teaching Liam for over 3 years now. I cant believe he is nearly 10. I am so proud of that fact that Liam can play and has really stuck with it – even though I wanted to quite a few times. Neil has been able to turn his stubbornness into a strength and provide Liam the motivation to want to play. I think one of Neil’s greatest teaching strategy is allowing Liam to make up his own tunes and compose. He really enjoys that and it allows him to be in control. Still working on the practice bits!!!

I want to say a massive thankyou to Neil who has just help me achieve Grade 5 piano in the last few days. Wow what can I say I have achieved Grade 5 and am so happy. Neil’s patience, guidance and his learning programme was brilliant. Anyone looking to learn should look no further than here. ” without you none of this would have been possible” Kenes (16)

Neil started teaching me last year, and I love my piano lessons. Being a mature student ie over 70 it hasn’t been an easy journey in terms of getting my fingers to work as fast as I would have liked. However, I am now on my 4th book and am playing the music I like to play. I never thought I could do it, but Neil’s patience and guidance has been a total inspiration and drives me to keep learning.

My daughter Abbi (7) starting lessons with Neil in January this year and after trying two or three different activities – she loves playing the piano. Neil has been a total inspiration in providing an environment for Abbi who is easily distracted and needs constant focusing on keeping on with the task. The games Neil has introduced has really help balance the lesson between the really difficult bits and easy bits. I’ve had so much fun with it – I have now started taking lessons with Neil.

Molly has been playing for about one year now. Never played the piano before and has really began to believe in herself. Neil, has shown incredible patience and really goes out of his way to try and explain how you should read music and work out timing etc. The most important thing for me as a parent is that Molly enjoys it and is learning.

I started learning with Neil in January this year, after my daughter bought me some piano lessons. Well it’s now June. I’m over 70 years of age and never thought I would get to play an instrument. It has not easy, but Neil has honestly made the lessons fun, a cup of tea always works well. No, the lessons are good, Neil explains things really well and no rushing and I can go at my own pace. For me it keeps my brain active and am really enjoying playing.  I am learning Morning Has Broken at the moment and actually sounds like it as well. – Cheers Neil
